RIP Dennis Hopper: The Easy Rider

I always adore people who make their dreams come true, so that when they're already gone, their names stay forever...

This time, I would like to talk about Dennis Hopper. The veteran actor died recently, 0n May 29th, 2010, and I will always remember him as that reckless but free young soul in EASY RIDER (1969).

When I was a little child, I recognized him for the first time when I watched SPEED (1994), as that crazy terrorist who kicked Keanu Reeves' ass and killed Jeff Daniels. Then I saw him as another lunatic in WATERWORLD (1995), face to face with Kevin Costner.

As I grew up, I began to look for more quality watch. Then I was stunned when seeing him playing an asthmatic villain in BLUE VELVET. He played a role of a lifetime there! A must-watch!

But his most memorable work is: EASY RIDER. That is a wonderful piece of work. I must applaud him, because despite playing as Peter Fonda's co-star, in the low-budget turned to be a cult flick, he also wrote te script and directed it.

Then I must say, he's done it! He reached his dream by getting his work into the best thing he had in his life: MOVIES! Now we can place him in a row full of successful actor-directors which consists of Orson Welles, Clint Eastwood and Mel Gibson.

Bye-bye, Dennis Hopper! Have a long rest in peace!
